Exciting Things To Come; YNPN Orlando Hosts Mid-Year Retreat

The YNPN Orlando Leadership team recently met at their Mid-Year Retreat to discuss progress, brainstorm ways to improve, and even look towards a new structure in 2015. It was a productive meeting that left us with some exciting changes on the horizon.

Who Are We?

Did you know that the overwhelming majority of our members are 25 year-old European-Amercian women? Memberships Chair Cara Smith presented a captivating review highlighting the demographics of our chapter, which left us all a bit shocked. As a result, YNPN Orlando will be looking for opportunities to create more diversity amongst our group, including men!

We’ve grown! While we have worked to double our programming events to include one Social and one Professional event for our members each month, we have also nearly doubled in size from last year! Our chapter just reached over 400 members this month and is still growing. Partnerships Chair Ashley Hickman opened our eyes with a six-degrees of separation workshop that showed how everyone in the room was connected in some way. Unfortunately no, Kevin Bacon wasn’t in the room and none of us know him. Ms. Hickman did technically challenge us to all invite at least three new people to each event, so if anyone knows Kevin Bacon, I nearby invite you…

Planning for 2015

With the New Year already on the horizon, YNPN Orlando is considering a new Leadership Team structure that would be more streamlined and efficient. We can’t give away too many of the details here as this was a proposal and still needs to be voted into reality by the board. If you have been considering applying for a position with us, look for applications to be released at the beginning of the year. We always look forward to fresh faces and new talent to join our team and take our chapter to new heights!

Before we get ahead of ourselves though, did anyone catch the end-of-year amazing social that we have planned?! Spoiler-alert, it’s on our Events page. Respond in the comments below if you know!
